T.U.F.F. Mission X – Chapter 7

T.U.F.F. vs. D.O.O.M.

“Now agents Puppy and Katswell,” shouted Snaptrap, aiming his blaster at them, “you will feel the wrath…of D.O.O.M.!”

“You already said that!” replied Larry.

Snaptrap was getting very irritated. “Larry, you’re really pushing your luck today…!” He turned back towards Dudley and Kitty. “Alright T.U.F.F. agents! You’re in for a world of pain!” Snaptrap and his friends pulled the triggers of their blasters! However… “What the heck?!” Their blasters weren’t working!

Ollie took a look at the deactivation rod that Snaptrap was holding. “Boss, I believe that the rod deactivated all of our weapons as well,” he said with a glum expression.

Snaptrap looked at the deactivation rod with disappointment. “Aw man! I didn’t realize that it would shut off all of the weapons…”

Dudley and Kitty were surprised, but relieved. They let out a sigh. “Thank goodness he’s such a dope,” Kitty whispered to Dudley. He agreed. As funny as it may sound, Snaptrap is even less intelligent and more immature than him.

“Nice going Snaptrap!” mocked Larry. “That’s what happens when you keep using that dumb shopping channel!”

Snaptrap had enough. “Alright, that tears it!” He turned towards Francisco. “Francisco! Pile drive Larry into the ground!” Francisco threw his fist into the air. He then dropped it onto Larry’s head, which pounded the small shrew neck-deep into the ground.

“Ooowww…!” moaned Larry.

“That’s what you get when you bug me,” said Snaptrap casually. Once again, he looked back at the T.U.F.F. agents. “It doesn’t matter. We’ll just have to do this the ol’ fashioned way!” He folded his arms and looked at Dudley, and then looked at Kitty. He smiled a nasty smile. “You guys aren’t worth the trouble. Ollie, you take on agent Puppy! Francisco, you got agent Katswell!”

Dudley raised an eyebrow. “What’s the matter, Snaptrap? Too afraid to take us on?”

“As if!” he said arrogantly. “I just don’t want to bother, when fighting you is beneath me.”

“Hanging out on this island must have made you delusional!” Dudley yelled out with a smirk, pointing at his own head. “Since when were we ever beneath you?”

“Oh, you’ll see soon enough.” Snaptrap’s expression became serious. “You’ll understand.” He nodded at Francisco, who started to walk towards Kitty. The giant’s snarly grin revealed most of his sharp teeth.

Dudley became concerned. “Not sure how this is going to work out,” he said to her. “Francisco looks a lot tougher since the last time we saw him.”

Kitty had her right hand on her left elbow, with her left hand on her mouth, examining her opponent closely. She looked very focused. She put her arms back to her sides and smiled. “His size probably does him no favors when it comes to speed,” she replied. “I can take care of him. You watch out for Ollie as well.”

Francisco stopped in tracks and looked at her, wondering why she looked so confident. She then smiled and extended her left arm towards him with a pointing gesture. His eyes widened, looking surprised.

“We’ve beat D.O.O.M. several times, Snaptrap,” she said. “This will be no different.” She quickly charged at Francisco and jumped in the air, landing a powerful kick to his face! She landed on the ground and jabbed him in the stomach a few times with her fists. Francisco was feeling the effect of the hits, losing his balance. She then threw a powerful uppercut towards the bottom of his jaw. He was thrown back from the impact, falling over onto the front of his body.

“Whoa!” exclaimed Dudley. “Nice moves, Kitty!” She turned back towards him and gave him a thumbs up. Snaptrap gave no immediate reaction. Just then, Dudley noticed him smile. Dudley then turned towards where Francisco landed, and became alarmed! “Kitty! Look out!” Francisco was quickly running towards her! By the time she reacted to Dudley’s warning, Francisco threw his knee into the left side of her face! She was thrown back several yards and briefly rolled in the grass, but she was able to (although clumsily) get back on her feet. Her right hand was on the ground for support, and she was rubbing her face with her left, trying to catch her breath.

“Ow…!” she muttered to herself.

Francisco growled. “Those were some pretty slick moves…” he said to her, “but it’s gonna take a lot more than that to take me down.”

Dudley was about to run over to Kitty. “Are you okay-”

“I’m fine,” she replied, raising her left hand out to tell him to stop. “Just make sure to take down your opponent.”

“Uh… Okay…” he said with concern. Kitty raised her head, looking angrily at Francisco. Her pupils narrowed, becoming almost slit, and she gritted her teeth.

“Not letting that happen again…!” she said to herself. She got off the ground and ran towards Francisco.

Kitty vs. Francisco - T.U.F.F. Mission X by KingShovelton

She dodged his fist and threw several punches and kicks into his torso. However, he just stood there and looked at her. She stepped back, surprised that she wasn’t doing any damage to him. “I must have caught him off guard last time,” she thought. He threw his fist back and charged it towards her, just merely missing her face. She jumped to her left, while his fist smashed into the ground. He threw his tail in the air and swung it at her. She dodged most of the impact, but the tip of his tail whipped her arm, causing her to throw it back in pain.

Dudley was watching the fight, worried that Kitty was going to get seriously hurt; or worse. “This isn’t good…” he said to himself.

“No offence, agent Puppy,” said Ollie, who was now standing just a few feet from him, “but I believe it would benefit you to focus on your own fight.”

Dudley turned towards him. “Alright then, you asked for it!” He threw a punch at Ollie, but he managed to dodge it. He spun around Dudley and hit him in the face with his palm. He then tripped Dudley with his foot, making him fall onto his back. Dudley expected his opponent to hit him while he had the chance, but he didn’t; he just stood there, waiting for Dudley to get up. Dudley got onto his feet. “Looks like you’ve improved your fighting as well.”

“I suppose I have, haven’t I?” he said with a smile. “I don’t really consider myself a fighter, but I do know my share of techniques.”

“Well, I pretty much just hope for the best when I fight, to be honest.” Dudley liked Ollie, somewhat. Out of all the D.O.O.M. members, he seemed like a decent person, but he still knew that Ollie was a threat. “However, that luck of mine never failed me yet!” He threw a kick into Ollie’s stomach, and surprisingly, Ollie fell to the ground.

“Oh no!” Ollie cried out. “You got me! I did not see that coming!” His body became limp, and he closed his eyes, appearing to have fainted. Dudley was shocked. He didn’t realize that Ollie was that frail!

Snaptrap blinked in disbelief, with his eyes widened. “…WHAAAT?!?!?!” he screamed at the top of his lungs, throwing his arms out, slouching his posture. “You defeated him? Already?!”

“I…suppose I did,” Dudley replied, flabbergasted at what happened. “Is this a trick?” Dudley wondered.

“No way! You got to be kidding me!” He face palmed himself, and then slid his hand down his face. “Here I am, introducing you guys as my new and improved D.O.O.M., and somehow you all still manage to screw up!” His eyes were covered is veins. “Larry just couldn’t keep his mouth shut, so he had to get punished; Ollie got knocked out in one hit by pants-hater here,” he looked at Francisco, “and Francisco is having a hard time against a GIRL!!!!”

“Hey, at least I’m still fighting here!” Francisco snapped back, while looking at Snaptrap and holding Kitty by her tail at the same time. She hated it when her tail got pulled.

“Why you-?!” said Kitty. She punched his hand, making him release her tail, and she threw a kick at his face. He let out a small yell of pain, getting hit back.

Snaptrap looked at Dudley, shrugging. “You see what I have to deal with?! And people wonder why Bad Dog and Leather Teddy aren’t here anymore.”

“And Skunk,” replied Dudley.

“…Yeah, him too,” he said with a bored tone.

“What happened to those guys anyway?” he asked curiously.

“What do you care?!” he snapped. He took a few steps forward. “Well, looks like I’ll have to take you on myself!” he said confidently. He grabbed Ollie by his jacket. “Outta the way, Ollie!” He slid Ollie’s body across the grass, close to where Snaptrap was originally standing. Snaptrap was now standing on some rocks, being of a slightly higher ground than his opponent.

“One on one? This is a surprise!” said Dudley.

“Not like it never happened before between us,” Snaptrap replied plainly.

“Yeah, but this is the first time you stated that your actually fighting me yourself!” Dudley grinned. “If you’ve been so confident about your team’s skills, then I suppose you have a few tricks up your sleeves as well?”

Snaptrap folded his arms. “You could say that. Personally, I’ve wanted to get back at you for quite some time.” He raised his shoulders a bit, shivering a little from anger. “How did someone like you become a T.U.F.F. agent anyway? There’s no way agent Katswell vouched for you at the time.”

“It was thanks to the Chief, actually,” Dudley replied. “He saw potential in me, and he was right to do so. Keswick helped as well. He was able to figure out all of my canine abilities.”

Snaptrap was tapping his foot. “Potential and knowledge, huh? That makes sense, I guess. Still, when we first encountered each other, you weren’t even a T.U.F.F. agent. To think, if it wasn’t for that stupid misunderstanding, you never would have become a problem for me. You would’ve never been able to assist Petropolis and clean up crime.” He glared intensely at him. “We wouldn’t even be on this island right now! Funny, how ironic all of this is? If I eliminated you when I had the chance those years ago, instead of letting you go, none of this would be happening!”

“You didn’t let me go! You took off on a rocket, leaving me in your base!”

“Whatever,” he said while swishing his hand in the air. “That was a long time ago. Things are different now. The point is; I’m going to correct my previous mistake by finishing you off now!” He grinned, lowering his eyebrows.

Dudley got in a fighting stance. He spread his legs out, placing one arm in front of him, with the other behind. He looked very determined. However, something wasn’t sitting right with Dudley. He wasn’t fully sure why, but he had a feeling that Snaptrap was going to prove to be a challenge. Snaptrap unfolded his arms and got into a battle stance, similar to Dudley.

“Get ready for your life to end, agent Puppy!” shouted Snaptrap. He immediately jumped off the rocks that he was standing on and was charging towards Dudley. Thrown off guard, Dudley got smashed in the face by Snaptrap! Smiling, Snaptrap threw a kick to Dudley’s side, followed by an elbow to the back. Several hits were landed, and Dudley was catching his breath. He had his eyes closed with his head aiming towards the ground. Snaptrap stood before him, looking rather confident. “Looks like you’ve been slacking. Too bad for you, because this is where it ends!” Snaptrap threw strong a punch at him, but Dudley caught it with the palm of his hand, laughing softly. Snaptrap was quite surprised by this.

Dudley looked up with a grin. “Why the funny face?” he said while slowly pushing his opponent’s fist away. “Did you think just because you landed a few shots on me, you had a guaranteed victory?” Holding Snaptrap’s fist, Dudley pulled Snaptrap towards him. “Don’t make me laugh!” His head collided with Snaptrap’s head, throwing Snaptrap back in pain. Dudley threw a kick at Snaptrap’s torso, and then he threw two fists into the sides of Snaptrap’s snout.

“Ow!” Snaptrap cried, holding his snout. “How dare you do that?! My snout’s already bent up enough!”

“And I intend on breaking it tenfold!” replied Dudley with a rather silly hearted smile.

“You wish! I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen again!”

Snaptrap slid towards Dudley and managed to uppercut him in the jaw. Dudley was able to hit Snaptrap away with a swing from his arm. He backed up a bit, keeping his footing from the hit while rubbing his jaw. Despite his confidence, Dudley was rather surprised that Snaptrap has actually learned how to fight. He used to be a cowardly pushover back in the day. Now, however, he seems almost like a different person. “I wonder where he learned to fight?” thought Dudley.

“You’ve got some skill!” complimented Dudley.

“I would say the same about you, but you’ve been causing me too many problems with that skill of yours. You’re done!”

“We’ll see about that!” Dudley ran towards Snaptrap and threw his fist towards his face, but Snaptrap dodged it by shifting to the side. He grabbed Dudley by the throat and lifted him from the ground slightly. Once again, Dudley was taken by surprise. Snaptrap’s grip was tight, but Dudley was more worried about his clawed fingers digging into his throat.

Snaptrap gave a sinister grin. “And this is where it ends!”

Dudley didn’t have enough time to react. Snaptrap really looked like he had the upper hand. Suddenly, Snaptrap got kicked in the face, getting thrown back a bit to the ground from the surprise attack. Dudley fell to the ground and looked up; it was Kitty! She was the one who saved Dudley.

“Whoa, thanks Kitty!” Dudley said gratefully.

She looked at him with a smile. “Don’t mention it!” she replied. She looked a little roughed up from Francisco’s knee to her face, but she didn’t appear worn out.

Dudley suddenly frowned. He still felt that he could have handled the situation himself. “Well, if I wanted to, I could have handled it myself.”

“Yeah, right,” she said sarcastically. “Listen; Snaptrap may be tougher, but he’s still the same moron he’s always been, so use that your advantage. He might just-” She was cut off when Francisco suddenly grabbed her by her head with his massive hand. She let out a yelp while he lifted her in the air.

“I’m not finished with you yet,” he said, looking very cross. Because of how high she was from the ground, and how far away she was from him, due to the long reach of his arm, she appeared to be defenseless.

Dudley was alarmed. She looked like she was going to get killed. He immediately got back on his feet and scowled at Francisco. “Hey!” he yelled aggressively. “Put her down!” He gave off what appeared to be a swirl of wind around him. In this world, when people get angry or adrenaline rushes, they can create an effect that represents a buildup of energy. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

“You’re gonna haveta do something about it then,” replied Francisco arrogantly. He was, however, taken back by Dudley’s sudden hostility.

Dudley got angry. “Oh yeah? How about this!?” He rushed towards Francisco, dodging the fist of his opponent’s free arm and managed to punch Francisco in the throat! Francisco gaged and coughed with slime-like saliva dripping out of his gapping mouth. He let go of Kitty as she fell to the ground. She threw her hands to her head, fixing her hair, and then let out a sigh of relief.

“Wow!” she said with a smile. “That was close. Thanks Dudley!”

“Uh, r-right!” replied Dudley rather awkwardly. He felt a little lightheaded, but relieved. Although he didn’t always want to admit it, he cared greatly for Kitty. He’s known her for so long, that he honestly couldn’t imagine his life without her. He figured that was why he reacted in such an angry manner. “Just…don’t let it happen again!” he said crossly. He still wanted to look tough in front of her when he was in a hectic situation.

She got slightly annoyed by his attitude. “Fine then,” she muttered. Before they realized it, Snaptrap appeared behind him and kicked him in the back. “Dudley!” she yelled. Dudley landed on his hands and pushed himself back on his feet. He turned towards Snaptrap, who was angry.

“Focus on your own fight, agent Puppy!” snapped Snaptrap. “I’m not done yet!”

“And let Kitty become cat food? Yeah, no thanks!” he replied. “You may not care about your teammates, but I do.”

Despite being compared to becoming cat food, which weirded her out a little, since she eats cat food, Kitty was happy to hear that Dudley was concerned about her. She almost lost her fight, and thanks to him, she could continue it. Dudley felt the same way about her saving him.

“I care about my friends too, y’know,” replied Snaptrap, placing his hand on his chest, looking somewhat sympathetic. “I don’t know what I’d do without Ollie and Francisco...” He lowered his eyebrows. “But that doesn’t mean I’ll risk my own neck to help them.”

Francisco, now recovered from Dudley’s neck jab, could hear Snaptrap. He rolled his eyes. He was well aware that his boss wasn’t the most compassionate person to be around with. He liked him, Ollie and Larry, but he also knew that they weren’t the best people to rely on when things got tough. He wondered if he should find some more casual friends to hang out with.

“Distracting yourself for others is a weakness,” continued Snaptrap. “You should really learn something from me for once. It’ll save you a lot of trouble.”

“It is not!” yelled Kitty defensively. “We’re partners! Of course we’ll help each other!”

“Yeah!” agreed Dudley. “Don’t forget who got kicked in the face!”

“Blah blah blah!” replied Snaptrap in a snarky manner. “Man, you two can be a real pain! I didn’t come all the way out to this island so you two could act all mushy! What a pair of losers!”

“W-what?!” questioned Dudley, feeling a little embarrassed from what Snaptrap said. In order to avoid looking dumb, he turned towards Kitty. “Thanks a lot Kitty!” he said sarcastically. “Your just making me look less cool when you talk like that!”

Kitty was surprised and offended at the same time. “I was defending you, you jerk! And you just agreed with me!” She stopped herself for a moment. “Why do I even bother?” she said in a saucy way. “Go ahead. Look ‘cool’ all you want.”

Dudley grumbled. He looked upset, but he actually appreciated how Kitty stood up for him. He just didn’t like how his partnership with her was called “mushy.” He actually took that worse than the “losers” insult. He hoped that she realized what he was doing. Some time ago, he used to blame her for a few things when something went against his favor, but he’s been trying to break that habit. With that said, that doesn’t mean he won’t blame her for silly things, like when someone ate all the donuts at T.U.F.F. (although admittedly, she does eat a lot of donuts…).

Snaptrap face palmed. “You see? That’s what I’m talking about. This is why forming ‘real’ teams never work. My way’s a lot better; one guy gives orders, and the others follow without question,” he said proudly. “You should try it sometime agent Katswell. I know you always want to!”

Kitty was about to say something else, but Francisco said something first. “It’s no use arguing with him,” he said to her tiredly. She quickly turned towards him. “He doesn’t get the fact that your way works better.”

“Hey, who’s side are you on?!” yelled Snaptrap.

She turned back towards her opponent, making sure that she doesn’t get distracted anymore. “I have no reason to listen to you!” she replied. She wasn’t too fond of getting grabbed by the head when she wasn’t looking.

“Err… Whatever,” he replied with a bored expression. “Are you done yet, or are you ready to become lunch?”

Kitty stepped back slightly. She forgot that Francisco had absolutely no problem with eating other animals. “Your nuts, Francisco!” she yelled crossly. “What kind of life is that anyway?!”

“Hey, I can’t help it. It’s in my nature. You try being an alligator for a day.” He didn’t seem very concerned with her criticism.

Kitty decided to just stop talking to him. He was making her feel uneasy. She had to focus on how to take him down, before she finds herself dead meat.
Wow. Who would've thought that Snaptrap is that stupid; even in an alternate universe. lol Also, I don't know if any of you noticed, but I actually threw in an Arthur reference in this chapter. Y'know, the show with the song about a library card. Wink/Razz
